Jake McKinney joined Wheeler in June 2023 as a Tax Manager. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from California State University, East Bay, with focuses in both Accounting and Business Management. He is also licensed as a CPA in California.
Jake previously worked as a tax professional at a mid-sized Chicago firm, moving up the ranks from associate, to senior, to tax manager for a number of years before joining Wheeler. His focus is high-net-worth families, closely held companies and family office adjacent work. Pass-through entities are his primary compliance work, including a number of large transactions, with tax planning at the business, trust and individual levels.
Jake classifies himself as a typical nerd outside of work. He loves movies, shows (even though he’s way behind), board games and video games.
